Today 10-year-old Tynell Schooten visited the morning show to talk about her dreams as a professional barrel racer.

September 26-27, 2015 she will be competing against her idols in the sport like former world champion Lyndsay Sears.  The Calgary Barrel Classic takes place Saturday night and Sunday at the Agrium Western Events Centre on the stampede grounds.  It's a free event where you can come see the best of the best competing for the $80,000 purse and the coveted top 10 spots to qualify for the million dollar rodeo in Texas called The American.

Tynell was a little nervous chatting with us, but it's pretty cool to hear her talking about her passion and dreams.

As a Mom I am always excited to hear of children setting goals, going for it and having fun.  Her and Dreamy (her horse) are all set for the exciting weekend.  Kudos to her family for supporting this young lady in her dreams.  I think it shows us a great lesson - why not? Why not reach for your dreams and go for it with the spirit of a child just like Tynell.  We had fun playing...if I had a million dollars...what would you do with it? (She's going to build a dream barn for her horse and purchase a laptop) :)

Good luck to Tynell this weekend and all the other competitors. She will be one of the youngest to date to compete in the American if she gets a qualifying spot.
