Okotoks native and Calgary Stampeders receiver Anthony Parker has moved into the starting wide receiver role with the Stamps heading into training camp.

Stamps Head Coach Dave Dickenson says Parker's ready for prime time.

"Yeah, I do. For some reason I think Anthony has been undervalued by people in this city. He's come through for us whenever he's had the opportunity. Does he have room to improve? Of course! But, I thought his last six games were excellent, after we moved him to outside receiver and I thought he did a great job."

Parker, heading into his sixth season with the Stamps has 31 catches for 443 yards and 2 touchdowns in 18 regular season games last year.

Fellow Okotokian Charlie Power is heading into his third full season with the Stamps.

He too is climbing the ladder as he listed as number two on the depth chart behind veteran fullback Rob Cote from Cochrane.

Dickenson says Power's done everything that's been asked of him.

"I thought he was more than capable last year. We love our veteran in Rob Cote. It's one of those things where those guys make our team also on special teams, and I thought were probably one of the strengths of our team last year was our fullback play on special teams."

The Stamps open camp Sunday.

They're in High River for a junior camp this Saturday from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M at Highwood High School.
