The Okotoks Dawgs Black teams season came to an end last night (Aug. 17).

The Edmonton Prospects beat them 2-1 in Sherwood Park.

It was a two game sweep in the best of three semi-final WCBL season.

And in the spirit of good sportsmanship the Prospects sent out the complimentary tweet last night:

"...and a huge thank you to both DAWGS RED and DAWGS BLACK as both teams brought the mustard each and every game. Without these 2 teams, the 2021 WCBL season does not happen. Thanks to the DAWGS organization for their passion, perseverance and professionalism!"

Due to the unusual circumstances of this season the Okotoks Dawgs fielded two teams in order for the Western Canada Baseball League to have a season.

The Prospects will now face off against the winner of the Sylvan Lake Gulls - Lethbridge Bulls series for the WCBL championship.
