The homestand continues for the Okotoks Dawgs (15-10) as they close out a two-game set with the Weyburn Beavers (16-8) Friday night.

After Thursday's 6-1 win over the Beavers, Dawgs infielder Kellan Marruffo says the game plan won't change much.

"We just have to come out, just try to get as many runs as we can in the first, that's where it starts," he says. "Then just keep cruising through each inning. I mean, we're doing good right now, a lot of guys are swinging it well, no matter who we bring out or who we start, so just same everything I guess, just keep it going."

The Dawgs are riding a four-game win streak, and have won 12 of their last 14 to move into sole possession of second place in the WMBL Alberta Division.

Marruffo says after a 3-8 start to the season, the team has steadily been gaining confidence, especially at the plate.

"We started playing a little bit more relaxed and not treating every bat as the last at-bat," he says. "You know, it's just about putting them together and no matter what happens, we're going to get someone on base, and one-through-nine (in the lineup) someone can come up, whoever they are, and just get them in or get them over. Basic baseball, just manufacturing runs."

Friday's game marks the fourth of the five-game homestand for the Dawgs, and so far they've been a perfect 3-0 at Seaman Stadium this week.

Marruffo says a lot of the credit goes to the fans.

"When you have this many people here that are paying attention to the game, and with you every pitch, you know, you do something good and they go crazy, granted it feels good, but I think it's more intimidating for the other teams, just because they hear that and they don't want to mess up," he says.

First pitch goes at 7:05 at Seaman Stadium.
