After what's been a pretty warm winter so far, it looks like colder weather is coming our way.

Environment Canada Meteorologist, Dan Kulak, says Old Man Winter will be paying us a visit by weeks end.

"We're looking at a return to cooler than normal temperatures basically by the middle to the latter part of this week. Probably having daytime highs in that minus double digit range and overnight lows probably -17 to -20 range as we get into the weekend. And it looks like this weather pattern will stick around through to the end of the month."

Kulak, says we've had a good run for most of November and December and like all good things it too has to come to an end.

"You can't escape winter in the prairies and in Alberta here. Really it's been a very mild stretch since well before Christmas and even well back into November. So to think that we're not going to have a cold break would be a little bit optimistic."

Kulak says one good thing is they're not seeing much, if any snow in the forecast for the foreseeable future.
