The football season came to an end over the weekend for Claresholm's Willow Creek Cobras with a 17-1 loss to the Bow Valley Bobcats in the Provincial quarterfinals.

Cobras Coach Tim Bryson, says this was a game they let slip out of the their fingers.

"It was 2-to-1 believe it or not, going into the fourth quarter. And they had the wind in the fourth. They scored two late touchdowns to put the game away."

Bryson says the difference wasn't being able to capitalize on four Bobcats turnovers in the third quarter.

"You have to be able to take advantage of those and we just didn't. We had it first and goal at the one and didn't score and then we missed a short field goal after that. It was missed opportunities that came back and killed us."

He says with very little player turnover heading into next season, the future is bright for the Tier IV Cobras.
