This Weekend, August 11th-14th was Claresholm’s Annual Fair Days.

(The King, Queen, and First Princess of Claresholm's Prom helping with Fair Days.)

This year they had plenty of different events for visitors and locals to take part in.

The Sunshine Patrol attended the 3rd day of Fair Days on Saturday August 13th.

The Parade was that day and the theme was “Salute to Flight”.

With that said, it was extremely fascinating to see all of the different floats and the effort that each team put into their parade entry.

The winning float was by the Claresholm Veterinary Services which featured a “real” unicorn, flying pig, and a flying goat.

Overall, the parade was well attended and it is definitely one of the parades in the Foothills that features a lot of candy for the kids.

Following that, the Sunshine Patrol attended the Claresholm Downtown Tour.

This event featured a walking tour to see all of the homes for rent or sale in the town, a street market, buskers, and food trucks.

On top of that, the town of Claresholm utilized the vacant properties downtown by filling them with small markets of 5-8 vendors each.

To add to all the fun, the Town of Claresholm held their historic bench show in the local arena.

This is an event where all of the locals enter their prized possessions to be judged in different categories.

For example, there was a table of produce that people had locally grown, this produce was judged on size, color, and overall appearance.

Another category was locally grown flowers, they were judged on the arrangement and looks of the flowers.

Altogether, it was a great way for the people of Claresholm to show off their multiple skills and talents.

This is merely the tip of the iceberg of all of the events that are held throughout Fair Days and I promise you that they have an event for everyone!
