What an excellent day!

Was very lucky to have been a guest judge at Cayley's Lipsync Battle on Thursday April 13th.

They absolutely rocked it!

Some really sensational performances from Grade 2 right up to Grade 7.

I went along with 99-7 Sun Country's Laura Snell who's a lipsync pro. She just came back from a national event in Vancouver.

I gotta give props to Ryder, a Grade 5 student who performed 'Pokerface' from Lady Gaga.  He bravely dressed up in a short skirt, long blonde wig and really out did himself and had the crowd laughing along. Two grade 4 students, Emily and Halle 'roared' their way into a tie for first place with Ryder as they performed Katy Perry's 'Roar'.

Another team that really caught my eye was the second place finishers from Grade 5. Saddie, Ellie, Grace and Sydney. They did Dolly Parton's '9 to 5' and really acted it out, complete with a boss wagging her finger, them scurrying around with cups of coffee and really making it a show.  Showbiz at it's finest.

All in all, great job by everyone. They were are all well prepared and overcame stage fright, leaving everyone with huge smiles.

And special thanks to the student council for all the work organizing it, the teachers (who even performed a number) and all the parents and teachers that spent extra time getting everyone involved.

Sorry the photos didn't turn out as well as I hoped...I didn't want to use a flash and distract the performers.
