The Calvary FC, based out of Foothills County, lost their opening match against the Orlando City SC on Wednesday night.

They were held off the scoresheet in the 3-nil loss.

It was leg one of their two leg series in the CONCACAF Champions Cup held in Langford, B.C. instead of their home pitch at ATCO Field at Spruce Meadows.

Leg two is in Florida next Tuesday Feb. 27.

Cavalry FC qualified for the prestigious tournament by finishing atop the Canadian Premier League in the regular season winning the Shield trophy.

It's Cavalry's first continental competition this year.
