A couple of big names in the curling world are heading to Black Diamond this weekend, October 19th and 20th.

Oilfields Curling Club Manager, Mike Libbus, says former Canadian and Olympic Curling champion, Marc Kennedy and 2018 Canadian Women's champ, Chelsea Carey out of Calgary, will be putting on an event.

"Yeah, on Friday night we've decided to host a celebrity game. Marc Kennedy is going to take on 2018 Canadian Women's champion, Chelsea Carey. It's pretty exciting and some of our members get to bid on an auction to be part of the game."

Kennedy walked away from the game last year saying he needed a break, but Libbus says now he's back and curling with another champ in Brad Jacobs.

"Took a year off, got regenerated, got the body all rested up and he's back with one of the top teams in the world right now. Trying to look to win a Canadian Championship this year at the Brier and their focus is probably on the 2022 Olympics."

Kennedy will be around the whole weekend as he's hosting a skills camp Saturday and Sunday.
