It looks like the Calgary Mustangs are headed to Blackfalds as the AJHL has approved the sale and relocation of the team to businessman and hockey coach, Doug Quinn from Blackfalds.

Quinn will be the head coach and says the entire community of Blackfalds is very excited for their new team.

Currently the community is working on an expansion to the recreation complex that will include the construction of a new arena for the Mustangs.

The Mustangs have been located in Calgary for 30 years, but a lack of ticket sales and play off appearances have caused the team to struggle financially.

They were approved a leave of absence for the 2019/2020 season, due to financial reasons.

It looks like the Blackfalds Mustangs will hit the ice for the 2021/2022 season when their new arena is finished.
