The Midget Triple A Oilers found their skates as they bounced back from their opening day loss with a 3-1 victory.

The Oilers faced off against the BP Rangers out of Fort Saskatchewan in an early afternoon game Dec. 27th.

The game started slowly with no scoring from either side in the first period, however, no shortage of opportunity as both teams went to the power play multiple times throughout the period.

Strong defense and tough goaltending sent the Oilers and Rangers into the second period 0-0.

The second period saw the Oilers finally finding the back of the net with Moe Hakim opening the scoring just a minute and a half into the second on an even strength goal.

Neither team would do much more during the second as they both stayed out of the penalty box as well as off of the score sheet sending the Oilers and Rangers into the final frame 1-0.

The final period saw lots of action as the Oilers grabbed yet another early period goal, again just a minute and a half into the period, this time Oilers forward Ethan Macintyre found the netting.

Lots of battling throughout the period landed the Rangers lots of opportunity on the power play as they would get 3 chances with the man advantage, They finally found the back of the net with 2 and a half left to go putting the scoreline at 2-1 for the Oilers.

The Oilers sealed the deal with an empty-net goal from Oilers Captain Sam Simard to close out the game 3-1.
