Where do I even begin...this weekend was definitely action packed in the Foothills and there were a lot of firsts for me!

I will rewind to yesterday, when I attended three events in one day.

The first was the Friends of the Library book sale at the High River Library, and they had all the books you could think of...and for crazy prices like a book for a dollar! So of course I walked away with three new books that I can't wait to read! And I wasn't the only one, it seemed at times all of High River was at the sale buying piles of books. Which was great to see because all proceeds raised are going towards funding the library!

After the book sale wrapped up I headed up to the Alberta Kennel Club Winter Classic Show at the Spruce Meadows Equiplex. And this was a first, I've never been to a dog show but I will be marking the next one down on the calendar because it is a dog lovers paradise! I talked to Leeza Prokopishyn, PR Director of the Alberta Kennel Club before she competed and she said she was very pleased with the turn out as it is always fun for the competitors and dogs to have a cheering section!

After the Winter Classic I boogied back to High River for one of the coolest events I have attended so far; the Robbie Burns Night. Men in kilts, highland dancers, a silent auction, live Celtic music and tons of haggis! The Scots really know how to party. They had a great turn out and all the proceeds raised from last night's event will go towards the Highwood Highland Dancers, so really cool!

And for today, the cherry on top of a great weekend I got to check out the Foothills Regional Choir, they performed "Songs Through The Ages" and can I just say we have some really talented singers in the Foothills! I was blown away by their fun performance and it was really nice to see familiar faces in the crowd and choir. Oh, and to top it all off the fee for the concert was a cash donation for local food banks!

So all in all just a really great weekend, spent at really great events, with really great people (and dogs)...my only regret was not trying the haggis!
