An avalanche in K-Country over the weekend almost claimed a life.

It happened on along Tent Ridge in the Spray Valley Provincial Park on Sunday after a skier triggered a size 3 avalanche.

Two people were skiing but only one skier was partially buried and uninjured but ended up losing their skis and poles.

The Kananaskis Mountain Rescue group were called to the site to assist.

Currently Avalanche Canada says K-Country conditions are considered moderate.
