A Nanton man charged in connection with a stabbing incident in Nanton that left one woman dead has faced charges before.

A court record from Manitoba includes charges of aggravated assault, assaulting a peace officer and several counts of breach of recognizance against Ryan Kelly Sutherland.

On December 27 RCMP were called to a home in Nanton where they discovered 54-year-old Judith Hall deceased while her husband, 55-year-old Searle Hall, 36-year-old Chad Haase and 32-year-old Alana Beaulieu were all injured as was the accused.

Sutherland is already facing charges of theft of a motor vehicle, theft under $5,000 and assault for separate incidents in Nanton.

He’ll return to provincial court in Fort Macleod January 18.
