It sure felt like a return of summer to the Foothills Monday, November 2.

A high of 23 degrees Monday broke the previous record for November weather in the Calgary area, set at 21.7 degrees in 1969.

That heat also broke the record for the Okotoks area, though the data doesn't go as far back according to Environment Canada Meteorologist Blaine Lowry.

"Calgary is more documented, we have a station near Okotoks with data back to 1990, so nowhere near as extensive and it also set a record [Monday] at 23.6"

The heat isn't expected to stick around according to Lowry as the Foothills and area should expect to feel the touch of Old Man Winter again by the end of the week.

"The next few days, through the majority of the work week, the weather isn't too bad. As we reach Thursday and Friday, the northerly flow will kick in and we'll see the temperatures fall through the day on Friday and by the weekend we'll have daytime highs of below zero and the chance of accumulating snow."

Lowry says to be careful with your weekend plans and plan for less than ideal weather going forward.
