A High School summer school for First Responders is now available

Students in the Foothills School Division have a unique summer program starting up.

It's a First Responder program for high school students which teaches lifesaving skills and earns them credits toward graduation.

Long-time teacher and firefighter Bryan Mouland will be instructing the course.

He's been a teacher for 19 years, and a full-service firefighter in Foothills County for 10 years.

The summer program covers first aid, CPR, workplace safety, communication skills, mental health, and professional standards and ethics for first responders.

Students can earn credits towards their CTS component as well as certificates in Standard First Aid, Airway Management, Oxygen Therapy, and BLS CPR.
