4th annual Salvation Army Toy Drive filled up carts full of toys

The fourth annual Salvation Army toy drive was once again a big success.

It's all thanks to High River residents and local groups coming out to support the big day.

This past Saturday December 2nd saw people come by Canadian Tire in High River to drop off new, unwrapped toys along with gift cards and cash.

The Kinettes and Kinsmen groups each filled up a couple shopping carts full of toys and games and electronics. 

One family, who wished to remain anonymous, also brought in a few boxes filled with toys and stuffed animals they donated.

There were also nine different local businesses that showed their support as 'Santa's Little Helpers'.

From High River's Canadian Tire to High River Toyota, Tip Top Nails, High River's ATB, Burgardt's Butcher Shop, Blair Gordon with C21 Foothills Real Estate (Century 21), GM Mechanical, High River Dental and High River's H&R Block.

It was hosted again this year by 99.7 Sun Country and High River Online from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. 

The High River RCMP and Fire Department also came out again this year to show their support.

The Salvation Army still needs more toys as many more families have signed up for Christmas hampers this year.

In case you would still like to help, the toy bin will remain open at Canadian Tire for collecting toys until December 21st.
