The Town of Okotoks is starting up their street sweeping operations for the year, if the weather cooperates.

Tomorrow (April 18) and Friday April 19th, several streets around town will have parking bans from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., so that street sweepers are able to do their work.

On Thursday, April 18th, the following streets will have parking bans in place:

  • Poplar Avenue from Crescent Road to North Railway Street
  • North Railway Street from Crystal Ridge Drive to Lineham Avenue
  • Elma Street East from Veterans Way to Clark Avenue
  • Clark Avenue from McRae Street to Elma Street East

On Friday, April 19th, the following streets will have parking bans in place:

  • Elizabeth Street from Northridge Drive to Mountainview Gate
  • Elma Street West from Northridge Drive to Veterans Way
  • South Railway Street from Lineham Avenue to Oak Avenue

While these streets are being cleaned, the public is asked to find alternative routes wherever possible to help keep the cleaning crews safe.

All other services, such as mail deliveries and waste collection, will not be affected.

The Town is asking everyone to keep an eye out for signage and other parking ban notices in the upcoming weeks.

Keep an eye on the Town of Okotoks website and social media pages to know when and where those parking bans are in effect.
