It's "go time" for the Okotoks Oilers who face by far, their stiffest test of the season starting Friday,March 29, as they head to Brooks to face the Bandits in the AJHL South Division finals.

Coach Tyler Deis says whether they're underdogs or not, the Oilers believe they can knock off the best junior team in Canada in a seven game series.

"We're really excited about our team and the growth of our team throughout the year. There were some up's and there were some down's and stuff like that. But I really feel that they grew together and grew as a group here. And they definitely believe in that locker room."

The fact the Bandits are the top Junior A team in Canada is exactly why the Oilers want to play them.

As Deis says, to BE the best, you have to BEAT the best.

"We didn't want Canmore to win. We wanted Brooks to win. We want to play this team. That's the way it is, you know, you want to play the best team and we feel they're not just the best team in our league, they're the best in the country and this is the team you want to play."

The Oilers and Bandits play games one and two Friday and Saturday, March 30, with games three and four back in Okotoks Monday, April 1 and Tuesday, April 2.
