FSD and MLA Sigurdson met on Friday to clarify budget comments

The Foothills School Division and Highwood MLA RJ Sigurdson met last Friday, March 22 to clear up a few things.

There was some confusion over some statements Sigurdson said at a recent town hall event in Turner Valley (Diamond Valley) at the Flare N Derrick.

It was in regard to some comments he made about the Foothills School Division's budget.

In a statement released by the Foothills School Division Board Chair, Theresa Letendre said the meeting went well.

"It was a good meeting. We appreciated the opportunity to meet face-to-face as it gave all of us a chance to provide additional context and clarity. Everyone left the meeting with a clear understanding of the communication structure we have in place—as well as a commitment to use that structure as it serves our common goal of supporting the students of Foothills School Division and our greater FSD community."
