Plans are now moving forward to rebuild Centre Street in High River after the utilites were damaged in 2013 from the flood.

Council approved the plan to move forward on the Centre Street main replacement project from 2nd Ave. to 7th Ave. south using a two lane design with extra wide parking.

Council had concerns about the future because the road was suppose to be four lanes, but by adding the wider parking space the road could be converted to four lanes if needed.

Centre Street will be designed to match the rest of the downtown area with wider sidewalks and bump outs to calm traffic.

Administration will now contact the landowners and then proceed with an open house.
