Robyn Feluch is one of four Foothills artists who are displaying their work at the Calgary Stampede's Western Showcase.

This is the third year the 21-year-old artist has been a part of the showcase and her work can be found in the New West Student Gallery Section in the BMO Centre.

Feluch works with two different mediums, glass blowing and oil painting. Her pieces depict the western heritage which she's no stranger to with her background in working with horses and has been riding for 17 years.

Feluch says being a part of the Stampede is a great opportunity.

"This is a really big deal because you're lucky to be seen by people all over the world that are travelling to see the Calgary Stampede and it's also a great stepping stone to be around other big name artists while showing your work."

Feluch says the student gallery section her work is displayed in is open to those continuing their education who specialize in the arts.

"This particular student gallery section is for people that are registered in post secondary schools that are taking art degrees so we have people from the Alberta College of Art and Design, University of Calgary, University of Lethbridge... it's a really great opportunity to get your feet wet in a gallery setting without a huge overhead and while you're still developing as an artist."

On the 16th Feluch will be doing a live demo at the showcase from 5:00- 8:00 p.m.

Other Foothills artists to visit at the Western Art Showcase are Maryanne Jespersen, Virgini Senden, and Shirley Paradis.
