The shiny silver paint and the words High River are now missing from the Water Tower in High River as the demolition work continues.

Jim Duckworth, engineering coordinator with the Town of High River, said there's been some minor delays, due to weather, but the work should be done by March 20th.

The giant orange tarp is now gone, along with the lead paint and asbestos mastic that coated the outside of the tank.

A crane will be arriving on scene in the next couple of days and the tower will be cut into three pieces and the first one should be lifted off on Monday.

"They plan on doing three cuts, " said Duckworth. "they will bring the scaffolding down to the level of the first cut then lift it off and bring it to the ground and cut it up."

Once it is in smaller pieces the metal will be sent to a recycling facility.
