One of the final flood mitigation projects needed to truly make High River safer from another flood is the replacement of the Centre Street Bridge.

The Alberta Party Highwood Constiuency Association President, Joel Windsor is adding his voice to the chorus calling for work to begin.

"We want this thing fixed. We want this thing finished. We really like the idea the 'room for the river' model which was suggested to us, which was done by the same person who came up with the idea for the southwest berm. And that's what the Centre Street Bridge is supposed to do to. But, if we're getting held up, that's simply not cool."

Both High River Mayor Craig Snodgrass and Wildrose MLA Wayne Anderson have expressed frustration with the NDP Government and Transportation Minister Brian Mason for not moving forward on the project quicker.
