Nanton Fire Fighter Shawn Wiebe is ready for another trip up Calgary's Bow Building.

He made the trip in a little over 26 minutes in last year's "Firefighter Stair Climb Challenge" all for Wellspring which helps firefighters battling cancer and other diseases.

"Like at least 65 percent of firefighters will get cancer, with all the new materials that are burning. It's freaky actually."

In all the climb is 775 feet straight up.

1,204 steps.

And 3,400 feet above sea level.

All with 50-plus pounds of firefighting gear on.

Wiebe, who quit smoking just a couple of months ago, hopes to be under 20 minutes this time out.

The stair climb goes Sunday, May 7.
