As the Davisburg School gets closer to becoming a reality next fall there's one item that still needs to defined for the future Christ The Redeemer school... and that's a name.

The name will be decided by the public as the school division has put out an online form to help the selection process.

Christ The Redeemer Division Communications Coordinator Cathy Ballance says it's a great way to give future attendees of the Davisburg School a chance to name it.

"We wanted to gather some public interest and naming choices so people can go and submit their ideas online."

Ballance says there are a few guidelines to "Name Our School"

"It's a rural area so we're geographical land, we're also looking for people to see the other names in the CTR schools we want to consider Saints names or members of the Godhead like Holy Trinity."

Ballance says there's already 12 different names that the division is considering but they're looking for more suggestions.

"You can go our website and it's right there," she says. "You can go there and the criteria is listed and also you can propose a name through a form that we've put online."

For an abbreviated version of the guidelines for naming the school see below.

1.    All CTR schools are named after a Saint or person of the Godhead (i.e. Holy Trinity)

2.    Reflect the Catholic faith that serves as a foundation for the division

3.    Consider geographic ties (land/location) of the Davisburg area

4.    Consider the hopes and dreams of the school

5.    Consider other school names within the district

6.    Choose a name that is easily identifiable

7.    Be appropriate in terms of trademark/copyright
