High River is the fifth best place in Canada to do business.

That according to the 2016 edition of Canada's Best Places for Business Rankings by Canadian Business and Profit magazines.

The Town's Manager of Economic Development Jodi Dawson hopes residents can see the ranking and it's potential benefits with an "outside perspective."

"You know when you live in it, and we've all sort of lived through it. It's hard to see it from a perspective of outside. But there are a lot of attributes and things that make us a very competitive place to be. It's sometimes hard to see that from within. So my hope is that this perspective adds a bit more of a rounded view of what the opportunity really is here."

Dawson, says she'll use this ranking as a way to "sell" High River to businesses looking to set up shop.

"My hope is that it will stimulate people to think about us an investment opportunity that perhaps we weren't even on the radar for."

Four of the top five cities are in Alberta.

Grande Prairie was number one, followed by Edmonton, Saskatoon and Lethbridge.

Both Calgary and Okotoks were left on the outside looking in.
