High River is no stranger to construction and part of this has protruding manholes along 1st Street and 8th Avenue S.E..

Manager of Engineering Services for the Town of High River, Kailee Erdman, says it's part of the roadwork that's been underway all Summer.

"These protruding manholes are a result of the preparation to accommodate for the top-lift that's being paved in the Southeast".

The manholes have been marked with paint and should be avoided when driving.

Erdman says they won't be there long.

"Paving should be complete by the end of this week, which means the protruding manholes should be gone by next week."
