Early Thursday morning an Okotoks RCMP cruiser was involved in a collision.

The cruiser was in pursuit after a stolen vehicle when it was hit by an unrelated civilians vehicle at the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Northridge Drive at around 8 a.m..

The male drivers and lone occupants of both vehicles had various non life-threatening injuries, the officer was taken to hospital and has since been released with a broken arm.

The pursuit started in the parking lot of Walmart when an RCMP officer confronted the stolen vehicle, while trying to conduct a traffic stop the driver of the stolen vehicle sped off hitting several vehicles in the parking lot as well as attempted to hit two RCMP officers.

Following the collision RCMP were in pursuit of a vehicle heading southbound on Highway 2.

With the assistance of High River and Turner Valley RCMP detachment members the suspect car was located.

Two males, aged 24 and 16-years-old, were arrested without incident, and are in police custody.

They are both facing multiple charges in relation to this occurrence.
