The High River Hospital gets two new neonatal crash carts.

Shoppers Drug Mart stepped up to help the hospital make the purchase possible.

Cathy Couey, Fund Development Officer with the foundation says it couldn't come soon enough.

"We're receiving a cheque that will help us to purchase two new neonatal crash carts for the hospital".

The $7,300 cheque allows them to put the order in this afternoon and the crash carts should arrive within the next 4 to 6 weeks.

Neil Jowsey, Pharmacist/Owner says its thanks to a fundraising program that allows individual stores to give back to their community.

"What's really great about this program is that every cent goes to the place that we're donating to. Every year we're going to choose a different group to promote and every cent goes to that group".

Jowsey credits his employees, the community and local businesses for pulling together to make this happen.

The check for $7,300 was handed over to the High River and District Health Care Foundation this morning in his store.

Cathy Couey of the High River Health Foundation says if you want to give to any of their other projects they'd be happy to hear from you or your organization.

"They can either give us a call at the Foundation 403-652-0219 or come and give us a visit,  there's lots of different programs and projects that we do support".

Couey says having access to the new equipment will make a significant difference when newborns and smaller patients are in distress.
