Okotoks RCMP conducted a search warrant late Wednesday morning arresting a man and a woman in connection to reports of stolen property in at town residence.

Upon their preliminary investigation RCMP discovered stolen construction equipment at the home.

RCMP Sgt. Sukh Randhawa says there was no conflict when executing their operations.

"A search warrant was obtained and executed today (Wednesday) at around 11 a.m. and two people are in custody right now and are before questioning a male and a female," he says.

As to the extend of how much property was stolen and if there was any connection to the man and women involved in other recent thefts around the Foothills is still under investigation.

"It all depends in terms of the GIS & the CRU members and the Okotoks RCMP will be conducting further investigations when we talk to these people that were arrested," Randhawa says.

Among the items stolen include a air conditioner valuable at over $7000 from Calgary.

RCMP have recently recovered survey equipment and other stolen goods in recent weeks and Randhawa says he believes they're making progress in fight against local thefts.

"We are moving forward to address this issues of theft in the community so we're making headway for sure."

The RCMP reminding construction companies and workers to record serial numbers of all of their equipment they have so they can be identified by law enforcement when dealing with thefts.

The female connected in the crimes name and charges haven't been released.
