Turner Valley's Mayor is ready to welcome a couple of new faces to politics in the Diamond Valley.

New Black Diamond Mayor Glen Fagan and Councillor Brian Marconi were both elected in Monday's by-election.

Kelly Tuck says the only words of wisdom she has for the pair is to not be afraid to seek out help and advice.

"I think you always rely on existing elected officials. You're administration is always a good tool. And don't be afraid to ask. If you don't know ask. Any one of us is always there to help each other."

Tuck says the pair both have steep learning curves ahead, but she's sure they'll be positive additions to their Town Council.

She says she's looking forward to working with Fagan as the two towns work on amalgamation talks heading into the next civic election in October of 2017.
