Another group has stepped forward to make sure children in the foothills have a gift to unwrap Christmas morning.

Amanda Nelson says this is the first time they've done this.

"So the project is called the Foothills Toy Tower, and we're collecting toys at Emerson Lane mall in High River, all of the toys are going to be donated to the Salvation Army," Nelson says.  "We have a list of toys at the location, basically for kids of all ages right up until teens."

She says you can also get gifts wrapped with the proceeds donated to the Salvation Army and the Can Van, a fund set up to help Candisse McCormick purchase a wheelchair modified van.

"The two companies that have put this together are Envious Events, which is Candisse McCormick and Deanna Dreiger and then Amanda's Adventures, which is myself and I'm taking care of all the social media for it."

She says they're hoping they can make it an annual event.

They'll be accepting toys until December 21.
