The annual Salvation Army Toy Drive is back but with a wider focus, it's now called the Gift Drive.

Lieutenant Chad Cole says they wanted to be inclusive.

"When we say toys most people just think of toddlers and infants and, you know, the plastic toys, but we're we're really looking for gifts for teens as well," he says."Everything from entertainment to things o keep warm, to hygiene, so things like shampoo, make up and cologne and perfume or arts supplies and electronics like headphones, some generic cell phone accessories, that sort of thing that's very popular with the teen crowd."

He says registration has already started and they're forecasting about 350 families will be picking up a Christmas hamper packed full of toys and goodies and some things to help them with their Christmas meal.

Gifts can be dropped off at the Red Apple in High River and at the GMC dealership in Okotoks.

To be included in this year's hampers items must be dropped off before December 2nd.

After that they'll be sorted and packaged and the hampers will go out December 15th and 16th.
