There were plenty of bouquets tossed around by High River council to their Foothills MD counterparts at their Monday meeting.

Town councillors say they're extremely fortunate to have such a great relationship with the MD while discussing changes to the Intermunicipal Committee's Terms of Reference.

Deputy Mayor Dragon Brankovich said theirs is not a typical association and said it's an example other municipalities should look at and gave credit to the members of the committee on both sides.

Councillor Emile Blokland cited recent, and current annexations and the construction of 498 Avenue as examples of work that's benefited from their cooperation..

Since the terms hadn't been reviewed since they were approved in 2010, staff came up with some amendments to streamline them and clean up the language.

Rather than monthly meetings, scheduled meetings will be set for March, June, September and December to give staff more time to keep up to date and prepare for them.

MD council approved the changes at its June 21 meeting and High River councillors gave their approval Monday..
