Some concerns have arisen since the Town of High River designated 9 Avenue S.W. as a haul route while Macleod Trail is being torn up.

The Town says the decision was made after carefully considering all other options.

Due to the bags on 12 Avenue, the road isn't wide enough to safely accommodate the size of trucks required, and there are structural limitations that restrict the amount of weight that can drive on 12 Avenue without damaging the road.

The Town wants to clarify parking restrictions are not required to make room for trucks loading or unloading.

The restrictions along the south side of 9 Avenue are needed to ensure the entire length of road is clear of vehicles so that trucks can safely haul material in and out of the area.

Any residents with special requirements or needs should call the number on the notification letter they received to discuss possible options.
