When the snow flies, and it it will eventually, High River business owners downtown can count on the Town to continue sweeping the sidewalks.

Mayor Craig Snodgrass says they're the ones that decided to change the sidewalks so they're just doing their part.

"Obviously over the last couple of years with the changes downtown we've learned our way through it and a huge priority for town council is that downtown is clear of ice and snow because, it's not just to do it, it's a massive piece of economic development," he says.

He says the Town has learned some lessons from doing it the last couple of years, like the different pavement on 4 Avenue needs different equipment to sweep it clean.

While the Town takes care of overnight snowfall it's still up to business owners to keep sidewalks clear the rest of the day.
