With Smile Cookie week come and gone the numbers for our local Timmies are in.

Owners of Tim Horton's in High River and Claresholm Kim and Kevin Generoux worked hard to have a successful Smile Cookie week.

Kevin Generoux says he was happy to see the community support the Neo-Natal Centre in Calgary and Family Services in Claresholm.

"I was very impressed with everyone stepping up to the plate and buying the cookies, I know everyone enjoys them but they also go to a good cause, in High River all together we sold 5839 cookies which is 5839 dollars."

Kevin and Kim also own the Tim's in Claresholm which was similarly successful this year despite COVID.

"We also have the store down in Claresholm and all the donations are donated locally within the Claresholm community to the family support group there, it was 3167 dollars."

Generoux says the staff was extremely busy due to the lack of volunteers due to COVID.

"In previous years we've had volunteers and help decorate cookies and things like that which we weren't able to do because of COVID but hopefully we can do that next year and make it even bigger. Normally you might sell ten to twelve or twenty-four cookies so when you are selling a couple hundred's a day it's a constant juggling act in the ovens, we always want to keep everything as fresh as possible so there isn't any downtime with our ovens during Smile Cookie week.

Tim Hortons does yearly donations to various charities and Generoux says their staff are always willing to work hard to ensure each year they raise as much as they can.

"It's all for the kids and the families in Claresholm, our teammates are aware of that and we are very proud to be able to offer that service."

Across Canada, Tim Hortons raised nearly 11 million this year topping 2019's Smile Cookie week by $760,000.

Peace River in Alberta raised the most in the province with over 23,000 cookies sold.
