Spring Ball King Jack Landman has organized teens to go around town today to pick up donations of cans and bottles for people in Fort McMurray.

He says when he saw the devastation and the displaced people it hit home and he had to do something.

"I was watching the fires live on the news and it reminded me so much about how the flood happened with us, and we got so many donations so I'd really like to give back."

He says he created an account at the High River Bottle Depot, so anyone can donate their bottles or cans directly to the cause there.

Landman says a lot of his focus is on kids and replacing things that have been lost in the fire.

"I heard there was a school getting built and it burned down and I started thinking about the kids and teenagers so we're just trying to get clothes, iTunes cards and that kind of stuff."

"We're trying to get clothes for infants and teens. Anything that will kind of calm them and make sure they're O.K. because some of them lost everything, so I'm just trying to give something back."

He says if anyone has anything to donate he'll come get it if you call him at 403-336-0596.
