High River's Windmill Theatre Players next production opens Friday, March 31.

Director Carol Knox says being a part of community theatre is great for anyone.

"There's lots and lots of roles, there's roles for people off stage as well as on stage," Knox says. "We've had some people who've gone on to do professional theatre (they) started with us and we're very proud of them."

She says they have people who take part who are just interested in lighting or costumes or props as well as those that love to get up on stage.

Windmill has been around since 1974 and Knox joined the troupe in 1981 and has acted before, but in this production she's the director.

"It's a little bit different, I do get a wonderful pride in the actors, when you see where we started and where we end up, the journey is quite exciting and I like to be a part of that," she says.

They're putting on a more adult oriented play called "Sinners" but they'll return to more family fare in the fall when they put on Anne of Green Gables.
