One of the highlights of the Little Britches parade is Tate's lemonade stand which raises thousands of dollars for the Cancer Care Centre at the High River Hospital.

Nine year old Tate Barton says now that the centre's been expanded, he's shifting focus a bit.

"They're trying to make a program this year so that people that have cancer can still do activities and not just sit around in a wheelchair all day," he says. "The closest one is in Calgary so I  want to make one in High River."

Tate raised $14,500 last year and over the three years he's done the lemonade stand he's pulled in $26,000. His goal is to raise a total of $250,000 by the time he turns 18 in nine years.

His father Jamie says the lemonade stand has really progressed over the three years.

"It's actually, we talked about this maybe a month ago, about how this idea doesn't seem to stop, because everybody keeps asking us about it, what are you guys doing next, are you still doing the lemonade stand and even going into the fact there's organizations in town like the Little Britches committee, and a number of other ones that have already planned for us to be in it," he says.

Tate says he'll be set up about 15 minutes before the parade starts and at 11:15 they'll move over to the Museum of the Highwood to sell lemonade for another hour or two.
