For Councillor Tanya Thorn it has been a memorable two years on the Councillor's chair and believes the future is bright for Okotoks.

Thorn says some of the highlights for her this year when it comes to the Town follow it's future in the economy with the new five year economic plan "Together We Can".

She says the plan will make Okotoks a better place.

"It's been a long time coming, there was a sub-committee that worked on that strategy trying to get where it is now in November, since the start of 2015," she says.

Thorn says she believe "Together We Can" can open a new chapter in the Town's potential growth.

"Where we're trying to go is really key to our community," she says. "One building that culture of 'Yes', looking at downtown infrastructure and keeping our downtown viable."

As 2016 approaches, Thorn like many others on Council and community members are hoping for one thing in particular that will hopefully get the green light for development.

"Funding for a water pipeline," she says. "We're getting a water pipeline I'd like to just like to see funding, so that's probably my number one wish I know it's on my councillor FaceBook page, I put a wish out to Santa for pipeline funding, so that's my goal for 2016 is to get funding for that pipeline and it get it started."
