Music, magic, dancing and a lot of comedy kept a packed house at the Spring Ball Talent Showcase entertained on Feb. 3.

The event is put on to help the students get over their nervousness for performing in public, before dancing in the ball.

Participant Foster Laycraft says the talent show might be intimidating for some students, but everyone has a talent.

"Everyone was able to entertain the audience whether it was funny, or serious, or amazing," Foster said.

"All the people were well prepared."

She performed a dance routine with Cassidy Machacek and Jennifer Kowal which got the evening off on a high note.

"Every year everyone is able to pull it together. There's always some aspect of your life that you can throw together and make entertaining."

Other acts included Jakob Dijkstra telling why he has had four, or was it five, trucks in the one year he has had a drivers license.

Hint - stop finding them in caragana hedges.

Peyton Slavin, Capri McKinnon and Renee Arsenault gave their five top tips for getting in the NBA.

First off you should actually play basketball.

A number of comedy acts kept the audience laughing but it was the last act that silenced the crowd.

When Carmen Izyk and Jared Kennett took to the stage to sing Crazy for You by Adele you could hear a pin drop.

It was the perfect act to finish off the evening.
