Some streets in High River are going to be closed off over the next couple of days.

This time, it's not construction but for special events.

Friday Sept 23 starting at 7 p.m. the Balloon Glow goes at Spitzee School.

There won't be any road closures, but it is expected that there will be a lot of traffic in the area.

Volunteers will be helping to direct vehicles to parking prior to the event starting. The RCMP will be assisting with traffic control after the event.

The Town is asking people attending to car pool or walk to the event if possible. Limited public parking will be available near the Library, Charles Clark Medical Centre, George Lane Park, downtown parking lots or street parking around the Spitzee School area.

Please respect nearby residences by not parking across or blocking driveways. Parking in alleys is not permitted.

Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m. the River City Classic Burnout takes over Centre street from 7 to 12 Avenues.
