Over a week after the Foothills School Division Ward One byelection and the position of Trustee remains vacant.

The byelection resulted in Jeannine Tucker receiving 60 votes, compared to Jack Molyneux's 43, but because Tucker pulled out of the election days prior, there was no official winner.

The Division made a statement saying its board would meet to decide how exactly they'd be proceeding, but no information has since been divulged.

Tucker says she hasn't heard from the division at all after the byelection; not even to inform her of the results.

She added that while another byelection is possible, the Ward One Trustee position may not be filled at all.

"If you look in the school act, it states that they could leave the position vacant because they have six or more trustees. So it'll be up to them whether they have a byelection or not. It's not ideal for the people here because they don't really feel like they have somebody in their corner who is advocating them or representing them. I think it just depends on how you look at it."

The Division will discuss the matter at their next board meeting on Wednesday, November 14.
