The Alberta Electoral Boundaries Commission has released its final draft report on boundary changes for the next election in 2019.

Livingstone Macleod MLA Pat Stier loses Black Diamond and Turner Valley but gains High River and Waterton Park.

He's not entirely pleased with that.

"While I am very happy to represent High River, which is like an old home town to me because I've worked here for years, both in the '70's and then again was involved in Foothills MD council here for years, it is going to be a bit of challenge to try and manage the different areas," he says "They've added Waterton Park to the south to my area, now they've added in High River and Blackie, and by the way Blackie is my family's home town, my grandfather settled there in the early 1900's and lived there all of his life, but I will be saddened not to be working with Black Diamond and Turner Valley as much as I have been."

He says geographically he has one of the bigger ridings in all of Alberta.

"It it wasn't for the new way of communication with social technology, social media and that kind of thing it would be very difficult but I'm looking forward to the challenge and I think it's going to work out o.k., " Stier says.

He says for many of the towns and areas in his riding Lethbridge is a central connection point so he has a lot of meetings there.

The report still has to go to the legislature for adoption.
