Livingtsone-MacLeod MLA Pat Stier is behind protestors who've gathered the last couple of weeks to take the government to task over the Province's proposed carbon tax.

While not at either rally in Edmonton or Calgary, Stier says the carbon tax will raise power prices, which isn't good for anyone.

"All of these kinds of changes will cost money, and that means that we will be paying higher transmission costs for power. And I believe this is going to be extremely detrimental to business and anyone else who's trying to live and work here in Alberta."

Stier says the NDP plans are going to cost Albertans a lot of money for something that's unnecessary.

In the meantime, the Province will hold "telephone town halls" Tuesday, December 13 and Wednesday, December 14 to let us have our say on the proposed carbon tax.

Environment Minister Shannon Phillips will be available to answer questions through the calls.

The Province will call anyone with a listed number both nights. (Northern Alberta Tuesday & Southern Alberta Wednesday.)
