A couple of the residents of Soderberg House who were evacuated during Tuesday morning's fire at Medicine Tree Manor are Tena and Morris Dewolde.

Morris says they got the early wake up call just after 5.

"Sound asleep and at 5:30 the fire alarm goes and it's right in the bedroom so we just jumped out of bed, you know, sleepy and then we figured the cops were at the door already, the police, and the firemen yelling 'get out, get out, put on whatever you can' and out we went," he says.

His wife Tena says she wasn't really impressed at first.

"I heard the buzzer, the siren, and I thought 'Oh a practice at this time of night?' then the firemen were at the door and we moved fast," she says.

Both say the evacuation was done very quickly and without any problems at all.

They had only moved into Soderberg House about six months ago.

For now they're staying at the Heritage Inn.
