The Sheep River Health Trust received a generous donation from Developer and Home Building Company Anthem United, Tuesday, April 4.

As part of the annual "Together We Make a Difference Radiothon," Anthem United presented the Health Trust with a cheque for $5,000 to go towards health and wellness initiatives in the Foothills.

This is the second year the company has donated to the Radiothon.

Anthem United's Director of sales and Marketing Steve LePan says they're proud of their contributions.

"We're excited that the dollars stay local and are focused on health and wellness ,and in this case to go towards the urgrent care facility. It's just very important to build healthy communities, and not just build the sticks and bricks part of it, but to contribute to the people who live in the community as well, we're happy to be a part of it."

Sheep River Health Trust Representative Tanya Thorn says they money going towards the Urgent Care Centre are highly valued, as nearly everyone in Okotoks is accessing the building at some point throughout the year.

"We saw close to 25-thousand people go through urgent care last year, and we saw 7,000 kids come through our public helath units. People dont understand the impact of a building like this in our community, so to be able to invest back into the building a create that space where it gives us the ability to give better patient care, and give more acess, is really important."

The Radiothon in partnership with Eagle 100.9 is set to take place Thursday, April 13 from 5:30 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Okotoks Sobeys.
